3. Processing of personal data
YourAcademy processes personal data (such as name, e-mail, date of birth, company or organization, school or university, chosen username and password for YourAcademy, profile picture, your interest (such as art, biology, chemistry, music, law etc.) and your teaching levels, if you are a teacher) about its users, customers, business partners and website visitors. We collect and process personal data because it is necessary for us in order to provide services and support to our customers and users. If we cannot process contact information and payment information, neither YourAcademy nor our customers, users, suppliers and business partners will be able to fulfill their contractual obligations.
In other cases, we will process personal data if we have obtained your consent to process it. For example, when you sign up for our newsletter, we obtain your consent to process your personal data for that specific purpose.
Finally, as we want to be able to create the best products and give our customers the best user experience, we will also process personal data about your use of our website and App and the Service.

3.1. When you create a user profile and sign up for the Service
When you create a user profile for the Service, we will collect information about your name, e-mail, birthday and nationality. As an Administrator and customer of YourAcademy, you/ your school/your company is independently responsible for personal data for the personal data about students and other course participants that you register on the platform. We collect this information as it is necessary in order for us to be able to grant you access to the Service and inform you about how to use the Service.
During the subscription period, we will collect information about your use of the Service and your interest in our products. This information will be used to personalize content and optimize products and services for various customer segments, and it is used for internal purposes only.
3.2. When you visit our website
The information is used to make sure the website is working as intended and that it offers you the best user experience. Furthermore, the information is used for analytical and statistical purposes. By collecting this information, we are able to understand the interests and preferences of visitors and how they interact with our website and products. Finally, we also use the information for marketing purposes and for targeted advertising on websites and social media such as LinkedIn and Facebook.
3.3. When you sign up for our newsletter and events or complete user surveys
You may choose to sign up for our newsletter, and by giving your consent, you accept that you will receive weekly news and marketing material related to our products, events etc. When you sign up for our newsletter, we will process information about your name and e-mail. We need this information in order to be able to send you the newsletter.

YourAcademy hosts events, conferences and courses. In order for you to be able to register for these events, and to ensure that you get the information you need about the events, it is necessary for us to process information about your name, job title, workplace and e-mail.
Occasionally, we will send out surveys for different target groups and purposes. The surveys can be both anonymous and nonunanimous, and it will depend on the nature of each survey whether personal data will be collected or not. If the survey is nonunanimous, we will collect and process information about your name, gender, job title and geographical location. We will not collect this information without your permission.
3.4 When you engage with YourAcademy via e-mail or social media
It is possible for our users, customers, suppliers and people in general to reach out to us through different channels. The purposes of such inquiries vary, but it is possible to contact us through e-mail, phone or social media with questions about a customer relationship or the processing of personal data.
When you reach out to us, we will process personal data about you. Typically, this will be information such as your name, phone number and e-mail, but please note that we will also store the information contained in the communication you send to us.
3.5 When you make use of the Service and Clio products in general
At YourAcademy we want to make sure that the Service and its content are a success and provide you with the best personal user experience. In order to do so, we will collect information about your use of the Service. Furthermore, we also want to conduct statistical analyses of how our products are used in general, and when you make use of the Service, we also collect information for internal business intelligence purposes.
4. Personal data that we get from third parties
In addition, we are not responsible for the information collection, use, disclosure or security policies or practices of other organizations, such as Clio, Studycat, Ubongo, World’s largest Lesson, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Apple, Google, Microsoft, or any other website and app developer, website and app provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider or device manufacturer, including with respect to any Personal Information you disclose to these or other organizations.
Please be aware that we only collect information about you for our legitimate business purposes and we have a justified reason for collecting it. 5. What happens if we cannot process your personal data
The majority of the personal data we collect, and process is necessary in order for us to be able to fulfill our obligations towards our customers, users, suppliers etc. If you do not want us to process your personal data, you will not be able to use most of our services. For example, it is not possible to be a customer or receive our newsletter if we cannot process your personal data, and it will not be possible for you to use the Service if we cannot identify who you are.
6. Disclosing and sharing of information
Personal data collected by YourAcademy is solely used for internal purposes, and we will not disclose or share information with third parties unless we are required to do so in order to comply with applicable law or a court-mandated order.
You should be aware that we use data processors for all the purposes mentioned above. Among other things, we use data processors and dedicated tools for hosting all of our user and customer information, and we use data processors for sending out newsletters, surveys and marketing material from YourAcademy.
Furthermore, we have decided to host the Service through a third-party server in the European Union as we believe this will provide the best level of security for your personal data. It is important for us to emphasize that the data processors are only allowed to process the personal data for specific purposes as instructed by us, and they are not allowed to use the data for their own purposes. In order to ensure that your personal data will be used for legal purposes only, we are very careful when selecting our data processors, and we make sure that we have entered into a data processing agreement with all of our suppliers.
Some of our data processors are located in the US or other countries outside of the European Union, and your personal data might be processed outside the EU. We do ensure that such data processors are either Standard Contractual Clauses( (encryption, anonymization) have signed the EU Commission Model Clause on the processing of personal data, thereby committing to process personal data in accordance with the GDPR and European data protection laws.
7. How long do we store your personal data?
As we store and process your personal data for different purposes, it is difficult for us to give you a specific time frame for when we delete your data. However, we will only process data for as long as it is necessary and legal in order to fulfill the purposes for which the data was collected. For example, customer and user information will be processed for as long as the user is active since we otherwise would not be able to fulfill our obligations.
